This course provides an overview of issues, problems, and challenges that older individuals face so that those involved in pastoral care are able to recognize and respond to the needs of the aging population. Physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychological changes in the over 65 age group will be reviewed to assist the pastoral care giver in understanding issues of dependence, security, affiliation, loss, and mental health in light of elderly persons' spiritual needs.
